With a name like that, you should become a leading actor in an Coen-Brothers-Movie, professional soccer player at Benfica Lissabon or head of government with a dictatorial claim for leadership. But Eduardo RAFAEL DA CRUZ Ferreira early on decided to take an honest profession instead and devoted himself to electronic music.
Even though he has role models, RAFAEL DA CRUZ does not have to emulate anybody. Affected by the sound of great names such as Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Soleé and also Stephan Bodzin, an own style has emerged long ago, which moves far away from any Over- or Underground-Trends, or Charts. Instead, it takes people to the dance floor with Techhouse, melodious to progressive, abandoning too much digital work, but with the right sense of functional tracks and the vibe of his audience. Guests of popular clubs all over Germany, such as Elektroküche in Cologne, Residenz in Paderborn, Royal Bambi in Dortmund, the Airport in Würzburg and the Butan Club in Wuppertal already got to enjoy this talent. He also is cofounder of the legendary "The Garage"-Community in Bonn, which up until this day savors a more than good reputation through irregular events in off-locations.
Starting this year, RAFAEL DA CRUZ is booked as resident of the successful series of events "Faster" in Dortmund and also at the "Henry Ford Beach" in Cologne during the Summerseason. He works on numerous productions right now, which is also supposed to see the stroboscope club light of the night life this year. His job as editor of the electronic music magazine FAZE allows him to recognize trends long before others do and opens them to the public.
